HOUSEKEEPING

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the housekeeper performs various cleaning tasks as assigned to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. Housekeepers will perform essential cleaning functions in hotel and  building areas following established schedules and utilizing trained methods.

ESSENTIAL (PRIMARY) FUNCTIONS

Dusting surfaces, emptying waste baskets removes waste and relines basket. Damp wiping to clean all furniture. Cleaning and polishing metal and porcelain fixtures in bathroom. Mopping and sanitizing floors of rooms and offices. Spot cleaning walls and windows. Replenishing room supplies, performs discharge cleaning as assigned. Sorting and distributing linen as assigned. Perform heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas. Dusting and wet mopping floors. Vacuuming and shampooing carpets for cleaning and bacteria control with industrial vacuum.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times
  • Follow Personal Protective Equipment procedures
  • Transporting of waste from dirty core
  • Assists in cleaning emergency spills
  • Cleans and sanitizes assigned work area
  • Adheres to specific company policies.
  • May be assigned to other duties as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Exposure to continual exercise using body mechanics (Lifting, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling stretching, twisting, etc.)
  • Manual lifting of items up to 25lbs
  • Pushing of equipment
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Walking for extended periods of time
